One of the best ways to save money on household bills is by reducing the amount of energy we use at home, and residents in the Old Malden area can now receive free energy saving advice and have energy saving devices fitted in their homes under a new scheme funded by the Mayor of London and supported by Kingston Council.

keep your home cosy this winter - and save money too
The RE:NEW scheme will help residents to cut their energy bills and to make average year-on-year savings of over £200.
Energy experts from Climate Energy will be visiting homes in the Old Malden area between mid November and February 2012 to give practical advice on how energy could be saved. They will always show a valid ID badge and ask permission before entering homes.
As well as offering to fit a range of free energy saving devices, they will also discuss insulation and eligibility for grants or discounts for replacement heating systams and solar panels.
As there are a limited number of visits available, residents can pre-book appointments online at www.climateenergy.org.uk/renew or call freephone 0800 652 7207.
The Council is working to expand services offering discounted insulation and other home energy efficiency measures to all areas of the borough. But in the meantime, take advantage of existing opportunities to keep warm and save money this winter.
What do you think of this scheme? Would you take advantage of it?
