Be bowl-ed over (sorry!) with the choice of outlets on our High Street where we can get a nice warming cup or bowl of soup to take the Winter chill off.

We'd never heard of National Soup Month. But January is a

great month to get cosy with a comforting bowl of soup with some thick chunky

bread to dip in. Mmmmmm. Or even with all our Korean choices available to us,

Ramen with dumplings is simply divine. And filling too. Not forgetting that

soup is generally a healthy option for us too.Soups help restore our water balance and therefore can

help our immune systems. Chicken soup especially is known for its flu and cold

fighting qualities and can help clear nasal passages and windpipe. Vegetable

soups are great for boosting our vitamin intake and weight loss. Brilliant!

Eat in

Glasshouse – Soup of the day £4.50

Café 32 – Soup of the day

Tudor Williams – Soup of the day

Noodle Express – Soups and Ramen from £3.90

Take out

Wok Express – various from £2.90

OHAIO Sushi and Thai– various from £2.70 - £8

Greggs – Heinz Tomato soup

And then there's Waitrose, Co-op, Tesco, Korean stores  and corner stores where you can easily pick up

a can or packet. Or does anyone have any nice recipes of their own they'd like

to share? Please do!

New Covent Garden has my fave soup of the moment, it's called Jammin Jamaica and is a deliciously warming, meat free soup with spices and sweet potato. It's available from Tesco.
