National Adoption Week comes to New Malden

A push for local people in New Malden, Worcester Park and surrounding areas is going out to to get more children adopted.

Adoption experts are setting up a stall on Worcester Park high street all week to answer any questions about adoption.

There will also be a range of leaflets and information for people to take away.  

Councillor Dave Callaghan, Chair of the Children, Family and Education Committee said:"We want to give the residents the facts about adoption and answer some of the difficult questions people may have."

"There are children waiting for loving family homes and, ideally, we need to find them a suitable family."

As part of the scheme, an adoption hotline has also been launched  where people can find out more information.
