New Malden may not be at the height of tourist interest, but it does have some great reasons for spending time in the historic town. From visiting piano legends to varied transport options which offer you the chance to spread your wings, in New Malden, the world really is your oyster.
The town may not be the place that comes to mind when you hear the phrase All Inclusive Luxury Holidays but that doesn’t mean it can’t be the perfect place to start a trip. There are plenty of destinations you can visit from New Malden, both domestic and international, and anyone from the local area will be more than familiar with the options available to them.
Choosing your holiday
If you choose to take a holiday from New Malden then it is important that you choose the right destination. Europe is always a good place to explore with the similarities it has to our own home always a comforting factor.
Then again, for those interested in living life to the full, exploring more exotic might prove a better decision. The Mediterranean and Caribbean are always popular with those looking to sample new cultures whilst trips to the United States or other large countries offer a wealth of opportunities you’re unlikely to find elsewhere.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that mainstream options such as Spain and Portugal should be overlooked. These British favourites are popular for a reason and choosing to go all inclusive means you won’t have to worry about your wallet when sunning yourself and sipping sangria.
Of course, for those who want to spend a few days exploring their own city first there are plenty of attractions in New Malden itself. Exotic holidays are always good but you shouldn’t neglect the delights of home in your quest to see the world.
If theatre is your thing: New Malden recently played host to the very talented Japanese pianist Misako Osada at the New Malden Methodist church. Osada is a rare talent, and such performances are the like that are not to be missed.
The 23 year old pianist that has performed with the like of Cliff Richard took to the stage at the high street church to deliver a fantastic performance. Her New Malden recital included music by Bach, César Franck, and Claude Debussy but it was her rendition of Beethoven’s Sonata in C minor that was particularly sublime.
New Malden residents were reported to be happy not just with Osada’s performance, but also for the new found international interest in the town. It is hoped that the town can attract more international stars to play in New Malden and encouraging visitors to the many fine local businesses which exist in the area.
