Kingston Council is dedicated to providing sports and active recreational facilities for residents with a disability, impairment or special need, and on 28 October, a free sports taster day was held for adults with learning disabilities at Chessington Sports Centre to enable them to try out different sports.

The event was organised by Kingston Council's Active Kingston Team in partnership with the Learning Disability Service, and 15 participants tried their hand at a range of sports including trampolining, tennis, cricket and zumba. And those who attended the event will now be able to access free six week programmes in the sports they tried and liked.
Sue Johnson, Sports Development Officer at Kingston Council said: "This taster day showed that sport really can bring people together, regardless of their disability or ability. The smiles on the participants faces were priceless."
