Two outdoor recreational spaces in New Malden have been put forward for a public vote to become part of a prestigious nationwide scheme to mark two landmark 2012 events, Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.

The Challenge aims to protect 2012 outdoor recreational spaces in communities across the country as a permanent living legacy of these landmark occasions both now and for future generations.

Earlier in the year, each Neighbourhood Committee was asked to nominate two sites in their area to enter the challenge. Nine sites in the Borough were successful, including Manor Park, New Malden, and Dickerage Recreation Ground, Dickerage Road, on the edge of New Malden.

The two sites receiving the highest number of public votes will become the Queen Elizabeth II fields in their area.

Vote now as voting closes in November. For more information on The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge and to cast your vote, go to:http://www.qe2fields.com/default.aspx
