Year and half wait for swimming lessons at the Malden Centre!

Mummy signed us up for the Water Babes sessions at The Malden Centre when i was 8 weeks old. That was 14 months ago and we're still waiting!

This isn't me. I'm a lot cuter!
Having said that, we're now apparetly no.9 on the list and were told by the lady on reception to 'cross our fingers' that we'll get on to the January intake. Whooppee Doodar. I'll be nearly two by then, and let's face it, i'm not getting any younger.
So why does it take an age to get on to swimming lessons at The Malden Centre? No one at the centre can actually give a concrete reason, something to do with the amount of people, schools coming in and exisiting lessons going on.
Not having enough hours in the day doesn't seem to be exclusive just to Mummy then!
New Malden swimming pool is great for babes like me. Lovely warm water temperature, large family changing cubicles with change tables, shallow graduated steps into the pool with hand rails. No wonder it's so popular.
Fortunately other mummies have shown mine what to do, so now i'm a regular at being dunked under and being sung a nursery rhyme whilst splashing about.
Has anyone else had problems getting onto swimming lessons at the Malden Centre? Or did any other clever parents think about signing their unborn babies up before they were even concieved?! We'd love to know!

Thanks nim***poop (great name by the way!), were the lessons useful at all? We may just skip them altogether if not. Glad to hear you and your grandson had fun in the pool by yourselves though.

ReportI signed up my grandson for Water Babies and it took a year before we started lessons. I think at over £5.00 for a 20 minute lesson it is quite pricey and I think I did as well taking my grandson down to the teaching pool by myself.

ReportThis is simply ridiculous - how on earth are babies like you supposed to become water confident if you can't get in on a local lesson or two? Perhaps The Malden Centre needs to look at putting on more sessions to meet the obvious demand!
