Does anyone remember a school called Fitzgeorge?
I'm trying to find the news paper who wrote an article about the school closure and the children doing a protest march - I think it was between 1969 - 1971
Can anyone help with info please?

Hello, I had not heard of it but there is actually a Facebook Group entitled "Fitzgeorge secondary modern school Kingston upon Thames" with a few posts from people who write they were there when it closed in 73-74. Try this link https://http://tinyurl.com/4xrwzyc

Another thing, if you can go to the Kingston Museum, I think it has this document:
Log book of Fitzgeorge County Secondary School KT129/5 8 Jan 1962 - 18 July 1973

Contents:
The school closed on 18 July 1973

I found this info on the National Archives website (research is my hobby)

I'm going to the Musem on the 22nd Aug; they have the artical of the march and records of the school etc made contact with some people via face book too!
