Education in New Malden generally enjoys a good reputation and entry places are often highly sought after, but what do you think? Any glowing reports or, dare I ask, gripes with the system?

Primary schools

Malden Manor Primary and Nursery School: The vision at Malden Manor is to make the school a centre of excellence, aiming for high attainment in all areas, including academic, artistic and sporting. Whatever a child's previous attainment and background, your child will be supported.

Burlington Junior School: Burlington is a large, successful junior school with a history of success. Children are expected to work hard and achieve their potential across the curriculum. Literacy, numeracy and good work habits are given high priority, along with high standards of behaviour, emphasis on care and consideration for others.

Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School: This mixed school for ages five to 11 provides a range of rich and varied learning experiences for all children. Children are encouraged to work hard and staff are committed to helping each child to reach his/her potential within a safe, caring environment.

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School: Sacred Heart has been rated very highly in Ofsted and RE Ofsted, as well as by their Investors in People Award. The school is a two form of entry school for five-11 year olds. There is also a nursery which accommodates 52 children part-time.

Secondary schools

Coombe Girls' and Coombe Boys' Schools: Coombe Girls' is an all-female secondary school and 6th form centre. Its also a specialist language college, 'Leading Edge' School and high performing Training School. Coombe Boys' is an inclusive foundation secondary school and a maths and computing Specialist School, which has provided enhanced facilities for both pupils and staff.

Richard Challoner School: This all boys Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form holds dual Specialist Technology College and Vocational School status. The school promotes fine arts, and holds an annual exhibition of student work. The school also recently built a large new theatre, the Challoner Studio Theatre.

The Holy Cross School: The school is a voluntary aided, comprehensive Roman Catholic high school for girls. The school has just under 1000 pupils attending, and most year 11 girls apply to the small sixth form. Pupils are joined by girls and boys from other schools, mainly Richard Challoner. The school is a Science College, and has been rated by Ofsted (in 2007) as 'outstanding'.
