Kingston residents will be able have their say on the priorities for the Safer Kingston Partnership (SKP) this month.

The Safer Kingston Partnership is seeking the views of all Kingston residents on crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour, and substance misuse through its annual Reducing Crime Together survey.

In September, the survey will be sent to all homes and businesses in the borough, along with the Safer Kingston Partnership newsletter. Residents will also be able to complete the survey online, at: www.kingston.gov.uk/reducing_crime

SKP is currently developing its 2011-14 Crime, Disorder, Substance Misuse and Re-offending Reduction Strategy. To help them work out the priorities for the revised strategy, the responses to the survey will be fed into the Safer Kingston Partnership Strategy Group, and will ultimately help to define the focus of their work over forthcoming years.

Last year the public informed SKP about key messages including: concerns about anti-social behaviour, irresponsible cycling across the borough, and burglary of homes.  The 2009 survey was enthusiastically received and generated four times as many responses as had been received in the past.

The Safer Kingston Partnership is made up of public, private and voluntary sector organisations, in which Kingston Council is one of the partners along with Metropolitan Police, NHS Kingston, Metropolitan Police Authority and the London Fire Brigade.

The closing date for completion of the survey is 17th October 2010.
