How has your car been coping with the recent adverse weather conditions? Whether you need a service, new tyres or a trustworthy recovery service, check our motoring contact book for local lifesavers:

Need a recovery, breakdown or roadside assistance service? Contact Fawngrove, or the National Rescue Group, who I've used in the past and are fast and efficient.

One of the best places for your MOT is Motest, which is well established as one of the south-east's major MOT testing groups. Staff are highly experienced and dedicated to serving the local community with a trusted full servicing, MOT and repair resource. The express MOT means you are in and out of the garage in 40 minutes, which can't be bad.

For garage services, maintenance and repair, you need M B Autos, while Autotec Workshop is an independent garage offering a wide variety of services for all makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles.

Tyres are essential when it comes to negotiating wet or icy roads - for new ones, visit Shannon Corner Tyre & Exhaust, an independent authorised Bosch car service and repair centre that also offers servicing, MOT's, wheel alignment, clutches and braking systems.

Finally, for car accessories, visit Tony Allan Motors on Kingston Road, or Halfords Ltd, for a wide range of products for all makes and models of car.

Where do you take your car for maintenance and repair? Let us know!

I just had to have two new front tyres put on my Toyota RAV4 and just in time before the last freezing conditions we had with all that snow. 4x4's come into their own so it's been ok but now just bracing myself for the next dump of snow this coming weekend!
