It's all change in the garden centres as they move from one season into another – and when the weather starts to turn, many of them turn into winter wonderlands, where you can purchase your Christmas tree and other seasonal accessories.

Plus, you may be thinking about getting those garden bulbs planted in time for next spring. Finding a local garden centre is easy as there's a fair amount of choice, but here's a quick round-up of the best in town:

Now its relocated to its new (ish) home on Kingston Road, Homebase has an improved garden department, which stocks seeds and bulbs, garden protection, plants, tools, greenhouses and paving.

Our eco superstore B&Q is also a great place for your garden bits and pieces, stocking all you need to maintain your green space through the colder months, from lawn seed and plant care to watering and irrigation, plus plants, bulbs and seeds.

Thompson's Nurseries is the place to go for all your wholesale plants and flowers, plus garden and lawn care, while J Warren in West Barnes Lane should be on your shopping list if you are looking for a turf and soil supplier

Chessington Garden Centre is an all singing, all dancing, uber garden centre. At Christmas there is lots to see and do for all the family, and his Christmas there will be an all-new magical Santa's Grotto, while departments include garden design, garden essentials, landscape materials and outdoor plants.
